Local Plan policy changes
Under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, policies within the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan (SOLP) are saved for three years from the date the plan was adopted. The three years elapsed on 20 January 2009.
We had to request the Secretary of State to issue a direction to save policies beyond this time and the policies had to comply with certain criteria.
The Secretary of State has now confirmed that all our local plan policies, except the following, have been saved:
C5 Protection of agricultural land
GB3 The use of land in the Green Belt
EP5 Flood risk
H1 The amount and location of housing
A6 Agricultural worker's dwellings
A7 Agricultural worker's dwellings
RUR14 Siarey's Timber Yard, Chinnor
RUR15 Mackenzie Myers, Watlington
DID6 The expansion of Didcot town centre
THA2 The Phoenix Trail
THA4 Rycotewood College
WAL1 Wantage Road
WAL3 Station Road Industrial Estate
From 20 January 2009 the above policies are longer used in the local plan because they simply repeat national guidance or relate to a development proposal where the development has been completed.
We have crossed them out in the online version of the local plan.
You can view the direction confirming our saved policies on the right-hand link.
You can also view the full list of our saved policies, the policies that have not been saved and the reasoning for these decisions.
