Community involvement

View the Statement of Community Involvement.

The Council's involvement of the community is a key element both in the preparation of planning documents and in determining planning applications.  The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is part of our Local Development Framework.

What is the Statement of Community Involvement?

The SCI explains how we will involve the community in preparing planning documents and in decisions on planning applications.  It clarifies who we will consult and how we will do it at the different stages of the planning process.  It also explains how we and developers will involve the community in the planning application process.

The Council will use the Statement of Community Involvement to plan our community involvement activities for all future local development documents and to guide our consultation activities on planning applications.
