The council's forestry service is commited to protecting and enhancing the treescape of South Oxfordshire. It achieves this through the promotion of best practice, administration of tree legislation, consultation on development and pro-active management of its tree stock.

Forestry News
The council is testing an interactive search map which provides information on Tree Preservation Orders, initially restricted to the parishes of Henley and Watlington. For more information please go to the Tree Preservation Order Pilot Scheme page.

You can find information on existing applications for tree works to trees under a Preservation Order or in a conservation area in the district via our Tree Works Register

Works to trees - making an application
You must inform the council if you intend to carry out works to trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order or standing within a Conservation Area by filling in an application form.
