Environment
South Oxfordshire is one of the most attractive areas of England in which to live. The council is committed to maintaining the quality of both the rural and built environment.
We do this through our planning policies, which ensure development is appropriate to the rural environment, and by acting promptly to deal with issues that threaten our environment. We act to protect the environment, by reducing pollution and take action where necessary to deal with instances of pollution and contamination.
We focus on the good management of waste and work to reduce the amount of household waste produced and increase recycling. We deal with problems of fly-tipping, abandoned cars, graffiti and litter.
