Council awards
Our council is officially one of the best councils to work for in the country, according to the Times Best Council to Work For awards. The council was included in the top 20 Times Best Councils to Work For awards 2008, where it was praised for its commitment to providing a healthy work life balance for staff and for supporting staff social activities. This year, the council again came in the top 75 Times Best Public Sector to Work for 2009 . Over 200 organisations across this spectrum entered the award and South Oxfordshire was placed 66th across all organisations in this category and 16th against local government counterparts. There were only 20 councils placed in the top 75.
The council made it to the finals in the 2010 Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards for efficiency and transformation and management team categories. The LGC Awards reward the very best in local government and recognise the excellent service they deliver to the communities they serve.
